at the back of 的用法

表示“在……的后面（范围之外)”，此时相当于 behind，可换用。如：

There is a little garden at the back of the house. 房屋后有个小花园。

We planted some trees at the back of the church. 我们在教堂后面种了些树。

表示“在……的后部（范围之内）”，此时不能用 behind换用。如：

There is a little room at the back of the house. 房屋后部有个小房间。

There is a lot of useful information at the back of this dictionary. 这本词典后面附了很多有用的资料。

有时也说 in the back of。如：

He sat in [at] the back of the car. 他坐在小汽车后部。

His room is in the back of the house. 他的房间在房子的后面。

在美国英语中也可省略其中的at [in] the，只用back of。如：

My home lies back of the school. 我家就在学校后面。
