less than的用法

1、less than 后面接形容词、副词时,意为不;很少;不到,具有否定意义。

例句：

(1)We were busy and less than delighted to have company that day.

那天我们很忙,不高兴有客人来。

(2) The young man is less than twenty years old.

这个年轻人不到 20 岁。

2、less than 意为不像;不是。

例句：

Joseph is less honest than his brother.
